Professional Bio
Julie Mills is a Registered Professional Counsellor. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences with a focus on ecology. She also holds a diploma in Counselling from the Kelowna College of Professional Counselling. She lives in the Comox Valley with her family and believes in the power of every individual on their healing journey. She is trained to help individuals with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, manage stress, and explore self-esteem issues. Julie’s approach to counselling integrates a variety of techniques with a primary focus on building a trusting and collaborative, client-focused relationship. Julie works with individuals to develop their goals in counselling. Client work can also include 1:1 skill building including boundary setting, increasing resilience, gaining self-awareness, and discovering healthier coping skills. Julie works with an emotion focused approach, offers life skills and employment related coaching, mindfulness, somatic work and is an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed counsellor.
